What a wonderful day we had! We both woke up pretty early this morning, relaxed then made coffee and breakfast, per usual. I went for a run and D opened up the area of camper that was most damaged, to trace and label wires, in preparation to fix it and install the new control panel. He wanted to mark them all, so he knew what was what. It’s a little beyond me, but I’ve even learned a bit from this experience. We received an estimate for Eddie at Merrigan’s, which stated that the trailer was totaled. We ordered the new all-in-one conversion box to be delivered to Hope’s house. Then we put together a package for the insurance company, including receipts, the estimate, and photos. After the work was done, we decided to take a ride to Tombstone, AZ, which is an old cowboy town, if you aren’t familiar with it. It is where Wyatt Earp and Doc Holiday originated and there is a movie based on it. It was very cool – a little touristy, but we completely fell into it. We saw the old courthouse, the OK Corral, an old cemetery, and some other famous places. They also put on an outdoor show (pictured above), but everyone was wearing masks and keeping distance. It was obviously for a good reason, but it took away from the show, itself. We took a more scenic drive through the canyon on the way back, on Hwy 63, which was breathtaking, but in all the excitement, we realized we needed ice and gas and food. By the time we got back from doing that, it was dark. We made some tacos, margaritas, and took in the peacefulness of this place. No updates yet on the election. It is looking good for Joe Biden, but it is still so close that anything can happen. Tomorrow, we are going to Joy & Ron’s for dinner. Interestingly, a couple of nights ago, they had a massive rattlesnake invade their patio. It literally cornered Joy, who was sitting on her chair in the corner. On Friday, we make a move. We are just deciding if we should stop in southern New Mexico for a night or head straight to Hope’s. Of course, will keep the updates coming!
Ever been to Tombstone? Ever seen the movie? It was really cool to see, but I am thinking it has a lot more going on during non-Covid times. I would really like to go back. Do you think it is worth a trip? Please subscribe to our blog below and share your opinions.
